september driving tip

In a residential area a good defensive driver will look for information that indicates children are in the area. Items such as toys in the yard, or bicycles/tricycles on the sidewalk or in the driveway. Also, if a child is between the sidewalk and curb, slow down, and "cover your brake" so you are ready for a sudden stop, in case they decide to "dart" out into the street in front of your vehicle.
